Welcome to the Strand Brewers Club website (strandbrewersclub.org). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, membership services, and online purchases. By accessing or using our Site, creating an account, or purchasing a membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our Site or services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website, creating a user account, purchasing a membership, or making any purchase through our Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Membership Terms
The Strand Brewers Club offers annual memberships on a calendar-year basis (January 1 through December 31). Current membership levels are:
- Individual Membership: $35/year
- Individual + Spouse Membership: $45/year
Memberships are non-transferable. Membership dues are not prorated for mid-year signups — you receive full access to member benefits for the remainder of the calendar year in which you join.
Refund Policy: You may request a full refund of membership dues within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, membership dues are non-refundable. To request a refund, contact us at president@strandbrewersclub.org.
Member Benefits: Active members receive access to member-only areas of the website, voting rights in club elections, participation in club competitions and events, access to the club newsletter (The Dregs), and other benefits as described on our Membership page.
The Strand Brewers Club reserves the right to modify membership levels, pricing, and benefits at any time. Current members will be notified of any changes that affect their active membership period.
3. Online Purchases & Payment
Payments for membership dues and other purchases on our Site are processed securely through Stripe and/or PayPal. We do not store your full credit card or payment account details on our servers.
All prices are listed in US dollars. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice. Availability of any product, service, or membership level is not guaranteed and may change without notice.
By making a purchase, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided and that the billing information you supply is accurate.
4. Merchandise Shop
Club merchandise (apparel, accessories, etc.) is fulfilled and shipped by our third-party print-on-demand partners, including Spreadshop and/or Printful. When you purchase merchandise:
- Order fulfillment, printing, and shipping are handled entirely by the third-party provider.
- Shipping times, costs, and policies are determined by the fulfillment provider and may vary.
- Returns, exchanges, and defective items are handled according to the fulfillment provider’s policies. Please refer to their terms of service for details.
- The Strand Brewers Club is not responsible for shipping delays, product defects, or fulfillment errors caused by the third-party provider.

5. User Accounts
Certain features of our Site require you to create an account. When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, contain false information, or are used for unauthorized purposes.
6. Website Content & Intellectual Property
All original content on this Site — including text, images, logos, graphics, and page designs — is the property of the Strand Brewers Club or its content creators and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish content from this Site without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as printing a recipe for your own brewing.
User-Submitted Content: If you submit content to the Site (such as recipes, photos, comments, or forum posts), you grant the Strand Brewers Club a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, modify, and distribute that content in connection with club activities and the operation of this Site. You retain ownership of your original content.
7. Code of Conduct
The Strand Brewers Club is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members and guests — both at in-person events and in online spaces.
Members and guests are expected to:
- Treat others with respect and courtesy.
- Drink responsibly at all club events. Never drink and drive.
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal laws, including those related to alcohol.
The Strand Brewers Club reserves the right to revoke membership, ban individuals from events, or restrict website access for anyone who violates this Code of Conduct. Decisions regarding membership revocation are made by the club’s officers and are final.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Strand Brewers Club is a volunteer-run nonprofit homebrew club. Our Site and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Strand Brewers Club, its officers, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, membership, events, or services.
- We are not responsible for the outcomes of any homebrew recipes, techniques, or advice shared on this Site or at club events. Homebrewing involves inherent risks, and you brew at your own risk.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in membership dues during the 12 months prior to the claim.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
